Mark is a trusted advocate for consumer finance companies facing complex litigation and government investigations. As a partner at Hudson Cook, he helps clients navigate litigation, arbitration, and regulatory challenges, with a focus on the efficient resolution of contentious consumer disputes.

Mark has defended financial institutions, debt collectors, mortgage servicers, auto and installment lenders, and other companies in cases involving key federal and state consumer protection laws, including:

  • Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)
  • Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA)
  • Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)
  • Fair Housing Act (FHA)
  • Electronic Fund Transfer Act (EFTA)
  • State unfair and deceptive practices laws

In addition to litigation, Mark regularly assists clients in responding to government agency investigations and enforcement actions, primarily before the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). His practice touches a wide range of consumer financial products with an emphasis on bank partnership installment lending and residential mortgage origination and servicing.

An active leader in consumer finance law, Mark recently served as co-chair of the Consumer Litigation Committee of the American Bar Association's Litigation Section and previously co-chaired its FDCPA and TCPA Subcommittee. He also formerly chaired the DC Bar's Litigation Community Steering Committee and is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association and ACA International. From 2019 to 2022, he served as the Attorney Division representative to ACA International's Council of Delegates.

Mark earned his J.D., magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, from the University of Miami School of Law, where he was Senior Articles Editor of the University of Miami Law Review and a teaching assistant in constitutional law. He holds a B.A., cum laude, from Syracuse University.

When he's not working, Mark enjoys spending time with his family and serves on the board of directors of DC Vote, a non-profit devoted to advocating for DC statehood.
