South Dakota Amends Door-to-Door Sales Requirements
On February 5, 2019, South Dakota approved Senate Bill 20, which amends South Dakota's requirements for providing a "Notice of Cancellation" in connection with door-to-door sales. Senate Bill 20 updates the statutorily-required "Notice of Cancellation" to replace the reference to telegram with a reference to an electronic notice. The Bill also amends the definition of "business day," for purposes of the door-to-door sales cancellation requirements, to delete Washington's Birthday and Pioneers' Day and add Martin Luther King Day, Presidents' Day, and Native American Day. The amendments take effect July 1, 2019.
